So today I'm sharing a very desi, very ubiquitous recipe that's made all over Pakistan - Aloo Keema. Keema aloo is a happy coming together of mutton or lamb mince, cubed potatoes and of course onions and tomatoes. Made in the instant pot or stovetop, it is a one-pot dish that's easy to make. Heavenly when eaten with roti or rice!

Steps to make Aloo keema:
  1. In a pan, heat oil and butter. When the butter melts, add bay leaf, green cardamom, clove, cumin seeds and fry for few seconds
  2. Then add chopped onions and saute until they are soft.
  3. Add ginger garlic paste,coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and add 1/2 cup water and saute until the water evaporates.
  4. Now add mutton /beef keema and saute on high flame until keema changes colour and stir well.
  5. Add milk and tomatoes mix well.
  6. Add 2 cup water, season with salt and cook mutton until the water evaporates and keema cooked through.
  7. Sprinkle lemon juice, chopped green coriander or mint leaves and ginger sliced.
  8. Serve hot with naan/ roti with sliced onions.
